Are you seeking an opportunity for to dig deeper into scripture? Are you looking to develop closer relationships and a sense community? Have you ever listened to a sermon and wanted to stop and say, "But what about...?" or "I don´t understand?" If you answered yes to any of these, then a small gathering of people interested in spiritual growth through Bible Study may be for you! In a small group setting, you can ask questions, participate in a discussion of the text, and hear others share insights and illustrations of the truth you are trying to grasp.
At Christ Episcopal Church our Adult Bible Study group meets the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month at 7pm. You are invited to enjoy the fellowship of a simple supper at 6pm before the study. Our programs this year have included an in-depth study of the Gospels according to Matthew, Mark, and Luke/Acts. In the seasons of Advent and Lent, we have met weekly to do a book study. In the past we have read What Are You Waiting For? by Christine McSpadden and The Vinedresser's Notebook by Judith Sutera.
You are invited to join us for our six session Lenten study Chocolate for Lent, based on the movie Chocolat. We will start with a viewing of the movie on Thursday, February 8, at 7:00pm. For each of the next 5 Thursdays there will be a short, thoughtful reading and clips of the movie to study together. The study begins at 7:00pm, and we will have supper at 6:00pm. Come, join us! Come share your gifts with us at Christ Episcopal Church!
